Patrick Fishel was born on the Eastside of Bermuda called St. David’s. He grew up fishing and farming on his family’s estate. His love for the ocean started here. He remembers fishing with his grandpa off the rocks in St. David’s, catching snappers, bonito, barracuda, and other species. Patrick also helped with farming chores such as collecting chicken eggs for breakfast, feeding the farm animals, and assisting with harvesting and maintaining the family garden.
At the age of 10, Patrick left Bermuda for the United States when his mother married a naval officer who was stationed on St. David military base. He lived in Texas, Washington State, and California. While in California, he graduated from San Diego State University with an advanced degree and is currently a certified deep-water lifeguard with emergency medical training. Patrick has 3 kids and is married to his high school sweetheart and still resides in San Diego today.
After retiring from self-employment, Patrick enjoyed fishing and diving off the West Coast of California using an electric sea scooter. This inspired him to spearhead a new future in the electric watercraft industry in Bermuda. Patrick wanted to combine the sustainability and eco-friendliness of the new electric watercraft with the deserving pristine shorelines and marine life of Bermuda.
Today, Patrick is the founder of a new revolutionary water sports business rental company called Sea Venture. It is a local company committed to electric watercraft rentals for tourists and the local community. This summer the world’s first electric integrated jet-powered paddleboard will hit the shores of Bermuda as the flagship product of the company.
